Welcome to Skyskraper.AI

The Skyskraper.AI research & development project is an industry-academia collaboration. Our research will use several artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as expert systems and machine learning (ML) models, to automatically adjust a given set of asset allocation portfolios in order to optimize these portfolios' exposure to the different investment asset classes based on the current or expected market conditions. The models will use large historical data sets and some real-time data streams. Asset allocation is based on modern portfolio theory that suggests different asset classes perform differently over time and owning all the assets in weighted proportion could produce a portfolio that could be less volatile and perform better over time. Our project will also implement an AI/ML-driven sentiment analyzer to evaluate the impact of financial news, tweets, blogs, and other social media platforms on the stocks and other financial assets. The result will be a dynamic portfolio management system that will strategically shift allocations when indicators point to certain market conditions.

While the overall objective of the research project will be to deliver an AI-driven portfolio management system, we expect to have several smaller tangential projects that may leverage this work. This project seeks to:

• Provide an opportunity for applied research that will be mutually beneficial to members of the collaborative.
• Provide project opportunities for academic credit to graduate and undergraduate students at the participating academic institutions.
